Naming Ceremonies

Naming Ceremonies are a wonderful way to welcome new children, whether they are babies born into the family or children adopted into the family.

It is a beautiful celebration of new life and of the family surrounding you all. If you already know that a fully religious ceremony is not right for you, a Naming Ceremony can be the perfect way to welcome your child surrounded by family and friends.

What does it involve?

Naming Ceremonies involve you making a commitment to the responsible and loving parenting of your child. You can include friends as Guideparents (also known as Godparents) and Grandparents can also make promises.

Through the promises you make, you share your love, dedication, hope and dreams for your child. We find out why you have chosen the names and formally name your little one, surrounded by your family and friends. You can also choose the music, poems and other rituals such as rose or tree planting, treasure boxes and unity candles and we have recently developed a beautiful and very special dream-catcher ceremony, unique to White Rose Ceremonies.

A new child in the family creates a wonderful and new dynamic in your life and that is worthy of a happy and meaningful celebration. We can help you create a celebration that marks this wonderful time with a real sense of joy.

We were so pleased with the ceremony for our daughter’s naming.  We hadn’t attended a naming ceremony before so were not sure what to expect! The service was absolutely beautiful. Rebecca worked with us to get the wording and sentiment just right.  It was very personal and in the end quite emotional. It was the little touches that made it so special. We would definitely recommend  White Rose Ceremonies to any of our friends who choose to go the same route.  Thank you so much Rebecca and Dave – you helped make this special day a reality.”
